Why did I choose my major?


 Hello everyone, welcome to my second blog. 


When i was a child i wanted to be an artist, because I always liked doing crafts with the things i 

found in my house. Also at that time my mom was working in the artistic field and after school I used 

to accompanied her in her job. I really enjoyed watching her work and how she created the products 

of the store. At that way, as the time passed by, I knew what I wanted to do when I grow up. 

 
In my adolescence i started to be interested in drawing and i thought about studying something related 
to the field of illustration. At first the carrer of design wasn’t in my options because i thought that it 
was really limited in the creativity aspect and i wouldn’t be able to do what I really want, but as I
growed up I discovered the big diversity in working áreas that this profesión have to offer, so i developed a big interest in it.
 

The only other option that I had was physiology, because at that time I wanted to help people with 

their problems, but as the time to choose came I decided to study design because i really liked the 

idea of helping people with my creations, design and drawings.  

 

I think my experience in the university studying design has been stressful, but at the same time, so 

full of happiness. I have learned a lot from this profession and I can get to know a lot of people from 

this area. I am so happy with my choose about this profession and university.

Changes to my study program

  Hi bloggers, today I’m going to talk about the changes I would like to make in my study program. Well,  on my case I personally enjoy the classes I have at the moment, but at the same time, I would like to  add some things on the program, so we can have more interactive activities instead of just the  classical classes where the students sit down on a table and watch the material on a board, mainly  because this approach doesn’t work for everyone since each person learns with different methods,  so having other kinds of teaching approaches will help the students to learn and understand deeply  the topics taught. In my case, I learn way more when the classes have practical activities like  crafts, presentations, among others, and that’s one of the main reasons why I chose to study  design.  About my faculty, I don’t find it very pleasant. The infrastructure is not prepared for our field of  work in most of the cases, particularly considering that it doesn’t even have medical equipment

Who am I?

  Hello everyone, my name is Catalina Norambuena and welcome to my first blog about how I am. I am from Chile and actually I stay in Santiago, more specifically in the station “Los quillayes” from Florida, but I am not from this city, I was born in Puerto Varas and I spend most of my life there. When I was 16 years old my mother, sister and I moved to Quilpue for the studies of my sister, she is an engineer from the university Federico Santa Maria. After that, my mother and I went to live here with my uncle for my studies in Santiago, in the University of Chile in Design, with the company of my two cats that we adopted, their names are Mao and Luna.  Here I show you a picture of my cats, the black one is called Mao and the white with orange one is called Luna, they are two years old and they are so cute.  In my family we are seven people and I am the most little from all of us. I have one older brother and three older sisters, and three of my siblings have already created their own fam

A country you'd like to visit

Actually i liked to visit different place's of the word, especially the countries of Europe, but I have one specific place that I definitely want to visit one day and this is Japan. This country has a lot of technology but also has so much history and tradition that I like to know. Japan is really beautiful with places like the Sagano Bamboo forest, the city of Tokyo, the Buddhist temples, the park Nara, etc; what have a lot to tell about history. Traveling to Japan is a dream that I have since was a little girl and I remember making a promise with my sister about going to Japan together when we where adults and I really hope this promise can be true in the future.   I like to visit this place how a touristic person but to be honest I don't liked live in this country for a long time, because the working life this country is really demanding and stressful and i don't think i can be happy with this style of life or not at the moment.
